December 14, 2020, Yangon, Myanmar – foodpanda, the leading online food delivery platform across Asia Pacific, celebrates turning one in Myanmar through an exciting online event giving the full musical and food experience through the screen while highlighting the activities they have commenced in celebration of its first year of successfully running operations in Myanmar. Officially launched in Myanmar on December 3rd, 2019, foodpanda has grown its community with thousands of restaurants and restaurants on the platform, bringing consumers their favourite food and daily essentials quickly, conveniently and safely.

In celebration of turning one, foodpanda commenced a plethora of CSR activities such as meal voucher donation, meal donations and cash donations to various medical facilities and organizations in the fourth week of November. foodpanda began their CSR activities by donating 1000 meal vouchers  worth 50 lakhs in total to the frontline medical workers of Yangon General Hospital and 300 meals from YKKO for the patients undergoing COVID 19 treatments. Later, foodpanda donated 1200 meals from My Banh Mi, Kaung Kyaik, Tea Live and Titu’s and 4 million kyats to Phaung Gyi Hospital, 300 meals from Nilar Bariyani and 3 million kyats to South  Okkalarpa Hospital and 3 million kyats to Wai Bar Gi Hospital.  On top of the aforementioned donations, foodpanda also donated 1200 meals to We Love Yangon organization in order to allocate the meals to individuals. In addition to the previously mentioned donations, foodpanda has collaborated with local artists to invite foodpanda users to donate a portion of their money spent ordering meals by using designated voucher codes. These donations will later go to We Love Yangon for the placement of donations to places deemed necessary.

The Riders Awards Ceremony was held on the 5th December, 2020 at foodpanda Myanmar headquarters to show foodpanda’s appreciation towards their riders for their outstanding performance and service they have given throughout the whole year, even in the midst of the pandemic. 20 riders were awarded at the event and were given certificates to mark their achievements along with cash bonus and foodpanda merchandise. At the same time, foodpanda ran the Customer Appreciation Program where they gifted foodpanda merchandise and voucher coupons with 30 thousand kyats to 100 customers who ordered the most from foodpanda.

To give their customers the full food fair experience across the screen, foodpanda celebrated turning one via an online event along with their Brand Ambassador, Aung La Nseng (Burmese Python), and musicians such as Tin Zar Maw, Shwe Htoo, Eternal Gosh, Paul Austin, Chan Myae Maung Cho, and Lucky Hand Band. Throughout the event, the musicians gave thrilling performances, entertained the viewers by playing games that revealed a plethora of voucher codes, and shedding some light on foodpanda’s recent promotions and activities.
